D.I.Y Costumes!!!

Yes!!  I'm back!!
Halloween is right around the corner and I have several entries saved just for this occasion!!

Halloween Entry #1
Past Halloween and Cosplay
(Part 1)

Ever since I was a baby my mom had always made my Halloween costumes!
We were ...how can i say this...frugal.. haha
Since then, I've grown up loving the art of creating costumes.. I never wanted to have the same costume as every one else who bought them at the shops. Here's a look back at my past few years of costuming :D

Amy Winehouse

I have always loved Amy... her music.. her style... the first pic here is a photo of me and my ex husband- he's Blake of course lol!

Years later I was invited to a Dead Celebrity party and I chose to be Amy again- my then boyfriend decided to go as Heath in character as Joker.

Playboy Bunny Cocktail Waitress

Jem and Tommy Lee

I wanted to go with an 80s theme that year! I LOVEEEEEEE Jem and The Holograms!!  and I LOVE Motley Crue!  So this was perfect D.I.Y. gold!!
Everything was thrifted.. ripped, re-sewn..used my own wigs and make up!

White Trash Costume

I attended a screening of The Exorcist in this "trailer trash" get up. Hair in curlers, robe, flip flops, smeared make up, a cigarette and a baby hahah a bit cheeky...

ZOMBIE WALK

This was my first Tucson Zombie Walk..i went as a zombie bride and i didn't attempt any real zombie make up. The wedding dress was $20 thrifted and i ripped, burned, stained, bloodied it myself..i added a veil, bouquet, and garter. I don't like the red bustier though I later altered this to not include it..

Dia De Los Muertos

My first Day of the Dead Procession in Tucson!  I wore a Devil Wears Prada tank as a dress with garters, a rose crown w/ veil, and Dia De Los Muertos sugar skull make up!!

SKELETON

My first try at a skeleton costume. I made some human skeleton stencils out of poster board and sprayed them onto some black clothes I had....painted my face...

Check back in tomorrow! where
I will continue my journey through costumes of my past !!

November Prize Mail!

I really dont remember how I got this......I sign up for stuff so much... anyway
This was a giveaway from Fed Ex.. their facebook...gosh I wish I remembered...
They were giving away some $25 shop small prepaid gift cards.. I couldn't figure out how or where to use em.. I ended up using them at Ross and a dollar store but I found out too late that Target was accepting them -ughhhhhhhh  my favorite placeeeeeee! haha

November Prize Mail!

I won this Milani cosmetics box through their Facebook page! We had to watch a music video and send our name to their email. I was one of 10 people chosen.
It came with all the products they used in the music video (shown here on their make up look card)
I researched the products and this box was worth $72 dollars!! I was pleasantly surprised and became a Milani lover for life! I think my faves of the box were the Eye brow kit, blue glitter nail polish, eye shadow liners, and liquid liners!
I'm not a cosmetics junkie so none of this will go to waste- i will host a giveaway on youtube with some of these goodies soon! So go and like the Milani fb page! They host some amazing giveaways!!

Party Perfect Ipsy Bag: November

Whats in the bag:
Nailtini nail laquer in Millionaire (full size)
the Balm cosmetics Meet Matt(e) eye shadow in Matt Batali (0.03 oz)
bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss (0.07 fl oz)
starlet cosmetics eye pencil in black (full size)
Chella eyebrow defining gel (.12 fl oz)

What I Thought:
The Nailtini glitter polish was rad- you could wear it alone, a few coats, or as a top coat!  I loved that the glitter was gold with teal flakes.
The eyeshadow from the Balm, was a really cool matte brown color which i been needing reallll bad!
I really loved it! very luscious and dark!
The Moxie Gloss was something i was very excited for! After using it all month i just lovvveee it!
It has a nice shine, and the tint is not too dark- some glosses are too potent color-wise.
This gloss leaves a zesty minty fresh feeling on your lips too! can't complain about that!!
The eye pencil was great to get in the bag this month since i really needed a new pencil- it was just a generic liner though...but came in a fancy box.
The brow gel was something I actually never tried before so I didn't know what to expect. It was alright... it did it's job haha!  My eyebrows normally aren't  out of control, but some days they do and I did use this product on em and it was nice- smelled like hairspray....
Out of everything tried I really loved the eyeshadow and Moxie Gloss! Another great bag Ipsy!!

October Favorites!!

 My Favorites for Beauty

-This month I mostly relied on the Physicians formula Nude eyeshadow Palette to get me ready in seconds- I highly approve anyone to get their own!
-I did so many make up transformations this month I utilized the ELF eye lid primer daily! Works pretty great for being so cheap!!
-I don't know why but I started using something I had kept hidden in the back of my make up trunk... NYC brand pink rose lipstick- i don't know why but i was really feelin shiny pink lipstick this month!
-I used up my October Glam bag eye shadow quad form Coastal Scents- amazinggggggg eye shadows!!
-The red lip lacquer by Mirenesse was great for creating dramatic make up looks this month!
-I'm almost all out of my fabulous Be a Bombshell eyeliner pen- saved my life all through October with all the drawing on my face I had to do!
-I needed the translucent finishing powder by L'Oreal to create my pale ghostly faces :) worked like a charm, but now I'm running out!  A definite "must buy again".
-I used the Monoi split end sealer on my hair- I recently went blonde so I thought I'd help out the ends a lil..
-and finally, my Pequi oil treatment ahhh left my hair soft and had a pleasant floral scent.
